Monday 22nd December

It has been a very busy day today, I had a hair appointment this morning, I didn't have split ends but my hair was getting very long. The hairdresser did a nice job and I think it looks quite nice, but I did make a lot of noise when she was cutting my hair, mostly the screaming noise! They eventually gave me a Hob Nob which calmed me down a bit, this was after my daddy's bribe of chocolate buttons had failed miserably. I think he was glad to leave!

I then went to Alder Hey for a check up, after suffering the humiliation of being weighed and measured I had my sats checked and they were 91%! My highest ever score! My consultant did a scan and said he could see my right pulmonary artery in my heart, he says he has never seen it before on an echo scan. My mummy and daddy said that it was the best Christmas present they could have hoped for, but I was confused, doesn't Santa Claus bring the presents down the chimney? Parents are so silly sometimes!

After my check up I went to visit ICU and then the Top of K2 to wish all the doctors and nurses a Very Happy Christmas. Also, I would like to wish a Very Happy Christmas to all my really brave friends and their mummy's and daddy's who will be spending Christmas at Alder Hey.

My favorite player Wayne Rooney's wife Colleen will be on the tele on Christmas Day as she is visiting Alder Hey, it is on ITV at 9:25am. I have promised my mummy that I will allow the tele to be switched from Play Disney to watch it.

Sunday 21st December

This week I had another RSV jab at Macclesfield, again because I am so big I had to have 2 injections. I vented my frustration in an appropriate manner by letting the whole hospital know that I was not impressed! I have a really loud voice now as well!

I have started to sleep a bit better according to my mummy and daddy, I only have the occasional 'really bad' night now. Although this week my daddy came home drunk and woke me up! He says he was not drunk, only a bit fresh. Well, he didn't look very fresh to me at six thirty the next morning!

I went to visit my friend Alfie today, he is very clever as he can walk all by himself and is doing really well. He was very affectionate with me and kept trying to kiss and cuddle me. I was very flattered until he started getting a bit too frisky by trying to wrestle me onto the floor, boys! It was really nice to see him though.

Sunday 14th December

Another week, another hospital visit, this time I went to Macclesfield to see my consultant for a review and to check she was OK. Apparently I am developing well, but she has referred me to the Shoeman so I can have some sturdy boots made. The sturdy boots will help me walk and stop me getting an offset foot like my daddy. His friends say he struggles to keep the football from going over the bar when he had a shot, and I don't want that do I?

I have been busy this week shopping, I took my daddy out on Saturday, I don't think he likes shopping but he likes hanging out with me! I was in full voice singing in the shops and I made lots of people laugh.

I went to Manchester on Sunday to see the Christmas markets, we bought a decoration for my Christmas tree at home, it is the first time I have been to a city, it was sooo exciting!

Sunday 7th December

This week has been hospital and doctor free, no trips to hospital or the clinic, just my usual visit from my community nurses for a sats check.

All I want to do at the moment is walk, walk and walk some more, I have also learnt to stomp my feet in the kitchen which has made my giggle lots!

I gave my mummy a shock this week but it was a nice one for a change! When she came into my room after my morning nap I was sat up in my cot, I did it all by myself!

I have even slept though the night which again gave my mummy and daddy another shock, although it was only a one off. My mummy and daddy had dared to go to a party on Saturday night, without me........so I repayed them by having an all night party of my own on Sunday night. Te he!

Sunday 30th November

Its been another busy week, I had to go to Alder Hey on Thursday to see my consultant. I made my mummy laugh whilst I was waiting for my echo scan....let me explain. Before being echo scanned, all of us cardiac babies have to be weighed...naked! Then measured, they allow you to have a nappy on for that to keep a bit of dignity. After a sats check you have to wait in another waiting room, well I am into walking (assisted) so I insisted on avoiding boredom by walking around in just my nappy and shoes. Apparently it was funny!

I also had to go to the clinic in Macclesfield for my 12 month injection, I was a bit confused though because I am nearly 16 months! I wasn't allowed to have it before my operation.

On Saturday I went to my friend Grace from Alder Hey's 1st birthday party, there was lots of babies and I had a great time spending most of the time walking (assisted) around the house.

I have been sleeping a little better, only waking a couple of times on a good night, my mummy and daddy have introduced the 'Margarets' to keep me all snug. The 'Margarets' are cute hand made cardigans from Dove Holes named after the manufacturer and they are very warm!

Sunday 23rd November

This week I went to Macclesfield Hospital for my RSV injection, I have to have this to stop me getting Bronchitis! Because I am so big this year, the nurse has to give me 2 injections as one is not enough, although I didn't flinch when she did them!

I found another stitch in my chest this week, it was hiding under a scab on one of my bullet wounds, what a clever stitch, it liked me so much it didn't want to be taken out! My mummy had to call my community nurses to ask them to come and remove it, I would have phoned them myself, I can use the telephone but these adults don't seem to talk my language, ba ba ba!

I have learnt how to nod and shake my head, everyone thinks it is really funny.

Would you like some custard Hannah?.... Nod my head.

Would you like some cottage pie Hannah?....Shake my head energetically!

I am still giving my mummy and daddy sleepless nights, not in the hospital worry kind of way, but the I want to play kind of way! They are so boring because they won't play, but I do make them laugh sometimes by acting all cute at 4 'o' clock in the morning!

Sunday 16th November

I had to have my chest stitches out this week, and it hurt! My community nurses came in force, one to hold me down, and one to remove the stitches. I cried a bucket load of tears! I now have two lines down my chest and seven scars which look like bullet wounds.

To cheer me up, I went shopping for my first pair of proper shoes from a proper shoe shop, I am walking around so much that I thought I needed some new ones. I was measured up properly to obtain my vital statistics, and I purchased a lovely pair of brown & pink cruisers, ace! I even had my photo taken in the shop for a keepsake, these paparazzi get everywhere, they are even going down my friend Alfie's throat to take a picture! Good luck Alfie, I will come and see you soon to compare notes from our echo scans.

This week I watched Children in Need, it had a little boy on who also has a poorly heart, he goes to a place called Zoe's Place so his mum and dad can have a rest. I have a friend called Matthew from Alder Hey who also goes there, he is really nice, he bought me a polar bear, not a real one silly, called M W Bear on the day I had my operation, which was really sweet!

I am settling back into my house nicely and playing with my toys loads, I have so much energy since my operation. My mummy and daddy look tired though, they can't keep up with me now, I am constantly on the move (with assistance) and I keep them up for all night parties, they must be getting old!

Wednesday 5th November

I had to go to Alder Hey today for a check up, I was not impressed with having to be weighed and measured and even less impressed with being echo scanned, although I did stop crying when I was allowed to play with the machine. My doctor said everything was working well which is good.

I then had to have my drain stitches taken out, ouch it hurt, but I did feel better when the nurse said she was a Blackburn fan, that must be really painful!

There have been lots of noisy noises tonight near my house so I decided it would be fun to stay up all night for a party with my mummy and daddy, I thought it was great fun!

Sunday 2nd November

The doctors came to see me this morning and said I could go home, ace! So my mummy and daddy packed all their things from Pluto and off we went, via Toys R Us at Warrington on the way home of course!

I went to visit ICU on the way out to say thank you to everyone for looking after me, I also said thank you to all the doctors and nurses on the top of K2 for looking after me.

When I got home I was so excited and I decided to go for an 'assisted' walk around with my mummy, we also had a mini party for my uncle Nick because it is his birthday today, he is really old though!

I have been looked after today by Di and my mummy and daddy. I have got to go back to Alder Hey on Wednesday for a check up so I will update my blog afterwards.

Saturday 1st November

The night nurses took my oxygen away, they tricked me when I was asleep by pinching my elephants truck, but it was OK because I stayed pink!

My doctors did an echo scan on my heart and lungs today to make sure there was no fluid left, apparently I had some fluid on my right lung a couple of days ago but everyone thinks its gone now. They also took out my 'access' which was the drip line for my drugs, I have to eat them now and they are horrible. Bluur! They are so bad I am having to revert to being sick to show my displeasure.

Other than being sick I have had a nice day watching telly and I even went for a walk down the corridor with my grandma and grandad. I have been looked after today by Sarah & Nina.

Friday 31st October

Its Halloween on the top of K2 and there was a big party in the afternoon where all the staff got dressed up. As I have managed to cope with less oxygen, the nurses said I could go to the party for ten minutes, so I did. I got all dressed up in a pumpkin bib and scary mask which was perched on my head, my mummy had a witches hat on as well, it was great.

I have had an elephants trunk for most of the day, a big grey pipe which has been pointing my oxygen at my nose, but it has helped me keep my oxygen levels in the pink zone.

Today's medical procedures were limited to removing the pacing wires from my heart, they pulled them out of my chest right in front of my eyes, and with no pain relief! I do admit to crying, just a little bit!

I have been looked after today by Lisa, Sarah and Paula, as well as a host of strange creatures from the top of K2 Halloween party!

Thursday 30th October

I have been allowed a cuddle with my mummy today, it was a bit of a faff being transported from my cot to my mummy's chair but it was worth it.

Today my doctors have decided to take my chest drains out so I will be more comfortable, and they had stopped draining blood which was the real reason. They also took out the main line into my artery ready for me to make the journey to the top of K2!

I decided to sit up in my cot and have a look around ICU which was good but it made me feel a bit sick, it must be all the drugs. I sat up in my cot when the porter took me from ICU to the top of K2, I looked just like the queen only a bit younger.

I am in bay 14 on the top of K2 where my friend Alfie used to live, it is very exciting on the top of K2 with lots going on, and I managed to start smiling and laughing, they even took my catheter out which was nice!

I have been looked after today by Helen, Di and Pat and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in ICU for looking after me.

Wednesday 29th October

Aggressive Weaning! I woke up this morning to find all the intensive care staff stood by my bed deciding to 'aggressively wean' me off my ventilator. Do they know who I am! I have never accepted anything aggressive whilst at Alder Hey.

I was very lively in my cot this morning so they decided to try me off my ventilator in the afternoon, that meant no milk all afternoon, not that they are letting me have much anyway! At 4 o clock we went for it and I came off my ventilator first time and let out a small cry. It was so exhausting though I slept for the rest of the day and night, they were a bit worried that I was still a bit drugged as I slept so well.

I have been looked after today by Kath and Deepa.

Tuesday 28th October

I had a really good sleep all night and behaved myself, my nurse had to keep me sedated to help me rest. During the day I have managed to open my eyes and have a good wriggle and stretch. The doctors are worried about me rolling out of my cot so my nurse had to hold me down whilst they gave me some more sedative, I was not happy so I started to cry but I was so sleepy that I could only manage a single tear before I went back to sleep.

My surgeon decided to close my chest today which took a long time as they said I was bleeding lots, they did also put a matching chest bandage on Upsy Daisy who is sharing my cot with me.

I have been looked after today by Denise and Helen, I also met another part of the Liverpool mafia! One of the nurses on intensive care is related to my friends Nick and Helen, its a small world!

Monday 27th October

The day started on a high, laughing gas for breakfast which made me all giggly and happy. I was carried to theatre at half eight by my mummy and was busy waving happily to my daddy. It was a long day but I appeared on intensive care at six o clock and completely suprised everybody by behaving impeccibly, I do like to keep everyone on their toes!

My surgeon explained the operation went well and he did what we had agreed and I am now pink! I still have my chest open, which is a bit undignified for a lady, and the doctors are trying to keep me knocked out, but I did manage to wave my arm a bit and open my eyes!

I have been looked after today by Alice, Lynn, Julie, Pauline and Michelle as well as lots of theatre staff.

Sunday 26th October

Its my operation tomorrow and the medical staff on the top of K2 are getting excited, finally it looks like I might be having my operation as I have not yet come up with a cunning plan to get it stopped, and there have not been any earthquakes in Liverpool yet!

I have had lots of visitors today and I have had a quiet day with my family, but I did get chance to watch my DVD's and eat some snacks in my cot. My nurses did dare to take some swabs from me which I tolerated but only because they promised not to put a drip on me overnight.

I have been looked after today by Jo and Jo and I have had a really nice day.

Saturday 25th October

I have had a present delivered to the top of K2 for me, yes its IgglePiggle! I would like to say a big thank you to Stan & Iris from me, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka. My entourage is getting bigger and I will need a bigger room soon, but hopefully it will be a pink one!

I have been busy today playing with my cuddly 'In the Night Garden' toys, reading my 'In the Night Garden' books and watching my 'In the Night Garden' DVD's, isn't that a pip! I have been looked after today by Claire and Erica.

Friday 24th October

The pink ladies have found out that I have blown their cover so they have decided to cancel the finger prick test, they must be scared of me!

Also, the doctors have decided to use the blood test from last week so they don't have to take any more blood from me, I don't think they have anything strong enough to properly knock me out, they have thrown everything they have at me and I have handled it all!

As they have steered clear of me, I have had a nice peaceful day with my toys and I have been looked after by Lisa and Erica.

Thursday 23rd October

I have heard a rumour that the doctors are plotting to get more blood from me, I heard them discussing laughing gas and they are also discussing unleashing the pink ladies on me to do a finger prick test.

The pink ladies have tried to hide from me this year, I have noticed they have changed their colours from pink to blue, they no longer wear the bright pink uniforms, they now wear pale blue! They can't fool me though, oh no, I know who they are and I will be ready for them when they come!

I have been looked after today by Denise, Claire and Lisa.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Wednesday 22nd October

The main reason my consultant won't let me go home until my operation is that I am apparently too blue! Too blue, I have told them I am a Man Utd fan and although Wayne Rooney is my favorite player that does not mean I am a blue!

I also have to have a special drug injected into my mini cannula twice a day but I have told the doctors that I am more than capable of training my community nurses to do the injection at home, but no the issue of my apparent blueness is too big an issue! Although they do think I will become pink after my operation which I am really looking forward to.

I have been looked after today by Katie and Judith and have had a nice quiet but busy day!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Tuesday 21st October

My club hand is no more, my cannula packed up whilst I was in my cot last night so they have removed it, so I can now use my hand properly, that is good because I am very busy and have lots to do!

The doctors have been to see me today to ask if they could delay my operation until Monday because Intensive Care is full, though they promised to do me on Monday as long as I am not poorly and there are no earthquakes in Liverpool over the weekend!

I have been looked after today by Lindsey, Pam and Judith.

Monday 20th October

I have been let out today on day release for the afternoon, so I went to Southport with my mummy and daddy for a couple of hours. Whilst we were there I nearly lost Makka Pakka, I have learnt how to cheekily throw things out of my pram so whilst walking, out went Makka Pakka.

Eventually my daddy noticed, he is not getting any younger. He had to go running back to find him, I thought my daddy had got lost because he was gone so long, but he did find my Makka Pakka on top of a bollard, whatever that is. Phew!

I have been looked after today by Lisa and Judith.

Sunday 19th October Update

The blood that was taken from me yesterday has shown an 'antibody', so they want more blood to do more tests, also my surgery has been delayed until they source the correct blood for me.

However, due to my chemical resistance the doctors have given me laughing gas in their latest attempt to knock me out, the third time in three days! After an hour of giggling I did nod off again and they took my blood, but I did wake again for a small cry in the middle of the procedure.

When I woke up later my daddy let me have some of his large chocolate buttons that were sent especially from Dove Holes which was nice, I would like to say thank you to Susan!

I have been looked after today by Lisa and Debbie and I have had a very giddy day!

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Sunday 19th October

Just to let everyone know, my surgery has been delayed again, it is now planned for Wednesday, more info later! I am really giving them the run around!

Saturday 18th October

The battle continues, they have hit me with a double dose of knockout juice, I battled hard but I did doze off for a minute or two and they managed to pinch some of my blood and put a cannula in my wrist. It did take three of them though with expertise, although I did wake up for a bit while they pinched my blood which caused them a but of a problem and enhanced my reputation even more!

I have now got a right hand wrapped up so big that it looks like a club, I am far from happy! I have been looked after today by Erica and Chris and I slept for 4 hours after the attack.

Friday 17th October

After a few days of peace, the medical staff have launched another chemical attack on me. They have tried to knock me out to get some of my blood and put a cannula in, anyway their plan was flawed, they only sent two of them in against me, they fought hard but I beat them off, no blood lost and they couldn't even knock me out!

The medical staff had to retreat for a meeting to decide their next wave of attacks, my reputation is now awesome!

I have been looked after today by Alice and Kate.

Friday, October 17, 2008

Thursday 16th October

I have had a busy day, I have been visited by some medical students, keen for me to teach them a few things about cardiac issues.

The hospital dietitian also came to see me, they are worried that I am not eating enough, well she ought to try hospital food! She has referred me to a psychologist, apparently me not eating is down to 'behavioural' issues! My mummy and daddy are so proud!

I have been looked after today by Alice and Debbie.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Wednesday 15th October

I have been paid a visit today by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (well a couple of the ladies). They played the harp for me and even let me have a go which I loved! I was feeling kind though so I also let them play to the other children on the top of K2.

I was having a walk on the ward with my daddy watching the musicians and one lady played the Cello for me, I really liked it but the instrument was bigger than me! There was also a lady videoing the performances for a promotional video for Alder Hey, they must be trying to attract more children to come to the top of K2?

I have been looked after by Denise and Debbie, I think my friend Rappin Ria who was on the top of K2 with me last year might remember Denise!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Tuesday 14th October

It has been a nice quiet day, the only medical intrusion was having my cannula removed and my splint taken off, so we have agreed a ceasefire again!

My oxygen levels are much better and I am feeling a bit perkier and I am pleased about the reduction in medical intervention.

I have been looked after today by Shelley and Judith.

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Monday 13th October Update.

My reputation as a drama queen was enhanced as my operation was cancelled at 8:15. My surgeon decided not to operate on me as my mummy and daddy were worried I had the sniffles, which I did.

It was a good job as well because my sats were starting to drop later in the day and I had to have oxygen over night, my daddy didn't get much sleep as he was camping with me.

I look like I have a broken arm as well as I have a splint on my arm to stop me damaging the cannula they put in me when they knocked me out, it is really embarrassing.

I have been looked after today by Shelley and Judith.

Monday, October 13, 2008

Monday 13th October

True to form, at 8:15am my operation was cancelled, I have got the snuffles! More info later!

Sunday 12th October

The battle continues, today they made me have a Chest X-Ray, which I was best not impressed with, I cried throughout. Then I had to have an ECG, this was OK until they pulled all the stickers off my chest and tummy, I cried again!

Then, the doctors made me have a cannula so they could put me on a drip to make sure I would be well hydrated ready for my operation, well after 2 goes at getting it in my foot and me turning purple with rage, they retreated.

They have had to resort to drugging me now before they conduct their next attack, I have been forced to drink 5ml of disgusting juice, then I fell asleep. When I woke up I was dripped, I couldn't even go for a walk. This is now all out war! I think them using chemical warfare is outrageous and I will get them back!

I have been looked after by Shirley and Chris, but I did get to watch the Grand Prix with my daddy!

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Saturday 11th October

It's war! They have pushed it too far today and there is no going back! They have spilled blood, MY blood, but it took 4 of them against me, my mummy and my daddy. We were outnumbered and it was completely unfair. They dared pinch some of my blood because they wanted to 'test' it.

Also, to make matters worse, my compromised mini cannula broke so the nurses have resorted to stabbing me to give me my medicine, they dare not even think about putting in a new cannula, there is no way I would put up with that!

And to top all that, I had to have another scan this time to find out where my arteries are in my neck? I am so not impressed.

I did co-operate though when my consultant wanted to echo my heart, I laid quietly for ages, but I did get to eat lots of buttons as a reward!

I have been looked after today by Shirley and Becky, I was so tired I slept all night.

Friday 10th October

There is trouble brewing, the ceasefire is still in tact, but only just. The doctors want to know where my arteries are so they asked me to go for an ultrasound scan, I decided to accept the request initially, but thought otherwise during the scan, I cried and cried and cried.

I have been looked after today by Andrea, Sue and Kate.

Friday, October 10, 2008

Thursday 9th October

Relations between me and the medical staff remain strained, my nurse came in today wanting to take swabs from all over me, I am not impressed! Only the fact that, allegedly, these 'swabs' are needed in preparation for my operation prevented a collapse of the ceasefire! I co-operated under duress as it might benefit me in the future.

I have been for a walk outside in the hospital grounds today in my pushchair with my mummy and daddy, the sun was shining and it was really rather pleasant. I have been looked after today by Shelley and Pat.

My operation has been delayed until Monday, I think a little baby needed my slot so nice as I am, I let the little baby go first, but I think this is a little white lie because due to my fearsome reputation on the top of K2, the doctors dare not take any blood from me!!!

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Wednesday 8th October

The ceasefire is holding by the smallest of threads, I am not happy at all! Rumour has it that I am a soft touch, some doctors came to see me asking if they could examine me and listen to my chest, the cheek of it with relations as strained as they are!

Anyway, they soon retreated when I started crying making it impossible for them to listen to my heart, my reputation as a tough little cookie is still intact. I have been looked after today by Shelley and Judith.

Tuesday 7th October

The ceasefire continues, I am tolerating the nurses giving me my injections, I still show I am not completely happy by crying when they enter the room, but I soon start smiling afterwards.

I am busy feeling the love at the moment and I am giving my cuddly toy entourage lots of cuddles, although this doesn't yet include my new talking doll!

I have been visited today by my surgeon who told me what he was planning to do and told me my operation would be on Friday or at the latest on Monday if a little baby needed my Friday slot. I have been looked after today by Lindsey, Pam and Judith.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Monday 6th October

I have decided to make peace with the nurses today as they have let me have ice cream, I even started to give out cuddles!

I went to Ronald McDonald House with my mummy and daddy for tea and I got to ride on a Rocking Horse which was ace! I am going to save up to buy one for myself!

I have been looked after today by Maureen and Judith.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Sunday 5th October

My uncle Nick did something called the Great North Run today, his time was 2 Hours and 17 minutes which is really good. He has raised lots of money for the British Heart Foundation, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has sponsored him.

My mummy and daddy bought me a present today, a new baby from the Disney Shop, it laughs, cries, says mama and papa. I think they are trying to teach me to talk! I have had a nice day and been looked after on the top of K2 by Di and Pat.

Monday, October 6, 2008

Saturday 4th October

The battle continues, I had to have a new mini cannula inserted in my left leg today, the nurses came en masse and pinned me down, it was completely unfair! I let them know that I wasn't amused, and the rest of the top of K2 ward as well. I was looked after by Shelley & Tracey today.

I would like to say thankyou to Mr B from the 'B' team for making me a Disney Channel DVD full of Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to help keep me entertained.

Saturday, October 4, 2008

Friday 3rd October

I have developed a fear of nurses, I kick off at the sight of a blue uniform daring to come in my room, sometimes they even gang up and come in pairs! I have such a fearsome reputation on top of K2!

My compromised mini cannula is starting to fail, my leg is all bruised and it hurts, they say I will have to have a new one tomorrow....hmmm we will see. I have been looked after today by Shelley and Chris.

Thursday 2nd October

I camped out on the top of K2 last night with my Dad and I decided to sleep all night, the machine that checks my oxygen levels didn't beep once!

As I am feeling a bit better I am allowed to go for walks with my mummy and daddy around the hospital, we went for morning tea at the coffee shop then went to visit my mummy and daddy's room at Ronald McDonald House, their room is called Pluto, how cool. Hot dog! I have been looked after today by Denise, Maureen and Pat.

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Wednesday 1st October

It is my friend Sam's 1st birthday today so I would like to say Happy Birthday!

I have been feeling a bit better today and my oxygen levels are a bit better so I sat up in my cot and watched 'In the Night Garden', I was soooo excited and enjoyed it lots. I have also started to eat a bit of food, I had Fish Cake and Chips for dinner today which was nice, followed by Jelly and Ice Cream. I have been looked after today by Leanne, Maureen and Judith.

This weekend my Uncle Nick is running the Great North Run to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, it is a half marathon and the money will help to research why little girls and boys like me develop heart conditions. If anyone would like to sponsor him please use the link to his website (Whatever that means):

Tuesday 30th September

There has been lots of discussions about me today, they say I have got to stay in hospital until I have my next surgery!

I won an almighty battle yesterday though, at Macclesfield they tried to put a cannula in me so they could start a new drug, but I refused to allow it! They had to retreat and have since decided that injections will be OK, I am still not happy though because injections hurt! Later on at Alder Hey we agreed to a compromise, a mini cannula in my leg so the injection won't hurt. I have been looked after by Lindsey, Andrea and Judith.

Monday 29th September

I am still not very well, my oxygen levels are quite low and I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself. My nurse came to see me at home as my mummy was a bit worried about me, my oxygen levels were not very good so we went to hospital. When I got there the doctor phoned my consultant and we decided I should go for a sleepover at Alder Hey. So off we went in an Ambulance again, this time my mummy cuddled me all the way. Nice!

This year I am a bit bigger so I climbed straight to the top of K2 and into my own private room, and I have been looked after by Si and Judith..

It is one year ago today that my friend Big Dave passed away so I would like to pass my (and my mummy and daddy's) best wishes to Jen.

Sunday 28th September

It is exactly one year ago today since I had my operation.

I have been in and out of hospital all week, I had to go to Macclesfield Children's Ward on Monday and Wednesday as my oxygen levels were not very good, and I had to go to Alder Hey on Friday to see my consultant for a chat! I am still feeling a bit poorly but we did get to go to the Early Learning Centre on the way home for a new toy, I got a musical baby walker to help me learn to walk, I am sooo lucky!

Sunday 21st September

I have had a cold this week so I have not been happy, although I did manage to use it as an excuse to get out of having my planned 12 month old baby jabs! Ace.

I went to the airport yesterday to wave my Grandma and Grandad off on their holiday, even if I do say so myself, I looked really cute with my new rucksack on walking around the terminal (With assistance of course!)

Sunday 14th September

I have started to learn how to sleep all night without waking my mummy up. Not every night obviously, that would be far too boring! My sleep patterns are creating lots of talk in my house, my mummy and daddy keep saying they feel wierd, too much sleep, I am sure I can sort that one out!

I went out on Sunday and met my friends Izzy, Gracie and Lily, I also got to meet my friend Harry for the first time, he is much younger than me though. I was really nice to see him. We all went for a ride on a steam train, I think my dad secretly likes trains, and we got to take Chester with us! There were lots of men with beards there taking photos of the trains which was a bit strange. Anyway, on the ride back we were delayed so I vented my frustration by crying loudly when the train stopped moving, I would have asked for my money back but I hadn't paid anything! We had a nice day though and I can't wait to go on another steam train!

Sunday 7th September

I can now talk, well nearly. I can say ba ba ba, my silly Daddy thinks I am saying da da da! I have really found my voice and spend lots of time babbling, loudly!

I have also got some new toys, I have a Giraffe that eats balls when I feed it and plays music, I play hours with my Giraffe. I have also started getting into In the Night Garden and I am cuddling my new doll Upsy Daisy loads.

On Saturday I began my modelling career, we went to a studio and I had my photo taken with my mummy and daddy which was really cool!

Sunday 31st August

I went to my friend Alfie's birthday party today, it was really nice. There was lots of babies the same age as me so I got to play and have lots of fun. I also ate lots & lots of party food which was ace!

After the party I went to my Nana's house and my cousin Jake was there so we got to play together, my cousins Daniel and Ellie also came round and we all got to have Chocolate roll. I think my Nana had to clean up after we had gone home, there was Chocolate everywhere!

Jake also showed me where my Nana's beer cupboard was ready for when we are a bit older!

Sunday 24th August

I have started to walk, well almost. I get a bit of assistance but it is fun.

There is lots of work going on in my house so I am spending lots of time at my grandparents and I am getting spoilt, which of course I like very much!

Apparently, because I slept well on holiday in my travel cot we got to go away for a sleepover in Derby with my friends Jack and Sam. We all had a barbecue which I enjoyed and I slept for some of the night!

Sunday 17th August

I have been on holiday this week, we went to the South to stay with my friends Paul & Emma.

When on holiday, we went to Portsmouth for a meal and I had my first meal bought from a restaurant, I chose cottage pie but as usual I was not a fan so I decided to eat it as finger food, it was a good trick and I started playing windmills, my mum and dad were so embarrassed and there was food everywhere!

I went to the beach for the first time, we went paddling in the sea and made sand castles, it was really nice. My friend Paul spent hours building me a huge sandcastle, but I think he enjoyed himself!

We also visited the town where my Grumps was born, all the people talked a bit posh though and we got to feed the ducks at the pool which was ace!

Monday 11th August

Today is my birthday! I am one year old today and we went to Chester Zoo and I met up with my friends Izzy and Gracie. We went to see the Tiger which was me and my dad's favourite, and the Lion and the Elephants and the Penguins, which were cute. I fell asleep after not eating my dinner in the Monkey house as I was exhausted after all the partying. I had such a nice birthday though!

Sunday 10th August

I went to Alder Hey this week to see my consultant. After being humiliated by my mum & dad by being made to sit in just my nappy in the waiting room I got to see my doctor. I didn't get to find out when I would be going back to hospital but I did find out that my arteries have grown, which is nice. I have still got one smallish artery but the other is OK.

On Saturday I had the first of my two birthday parties, the first was for all my friends, babies everywhere, it was great. It was raining all day so I wouldn't let anyone outside as I was worried they would get wet.

On Sunday all my cousins and aunties and uncles came round and we had a barbecue. I got to play out on my new swing and slide and play in my princess blow up castle with the pink play balls, it was great!

I got lots of presents and I would like to say thank you to everyone!

Sunday 3rd August

We went swimming today for the first time. Me, my mummy and my daddy. I have had to put some yellow things on my arms though, I am not a fan as they clash with my pink swimming costume! We stayed in for half an hour and I loved it, splashing and kicking my legs. In my usual style, I came out in a rash on my chest and had to go for a visit to the Children's ward at Macclesfield. The doctors were a bit baffled but I was OK so I went home and the rash cleared up a couple of days later.

Sunday 27th July

My Play Therapist came to see me this week to spend an hour on my play mat with me. We had a great time and I taught her a thing or two about playing with my favorite cookie jar!

I have also joined a gym this week to help tone me up a bit, I am officially allowed to go swimming now.

I have also received a gift, a new, bigger sleeping jacket from my friend Margaret, it is a bit hot for it at the moment but I will look ace when the Autumn comes, I would like to say thank you!

Sunday 20th July

My mummy has been poorly this week so my dad has looked after me, and I think I have well and truly worn him out. He has had to get up at 6 'o' clock with me, wash up when I have my naps, bath me, change me and try to feed me. Then I keep him up for most of the night, midnight parties are great!

Luckily for my dad, my mummy was back in action within a couple of days!

Sunday 13th July

My Granny and Grumps have moved house to live near me, how exciting! My dog Chester is really happy as well as his best friend Molly is now nearby as well. I had to help them move by arranging for some of my people to help, I can be so thoughtful sometimes!

I went to visit my donkey this week, she is called Hannah too, just like me! We had a really nice time and I was allowed to stroke Hannah's nose. Hannah (the donkey) has been sponsored for me by my Auntie (nee Great) Susan and Uncle (nee Great) Dennis.

Sunday 6th July

I had to go to Alder Hey last Monday so my doctors could take some photos of my heart and the associated plumbing! I think they may be plotting something but I am onto them! Nothing gets past me, they even knocked me out to try and stop me finding out!

In my natural dramatic style I did my best to scupper the proceedings, I decided to be sick on Sunday after visiting Chatsworth Farm for the day, personally I blame my dad's picnic food!

Then after waking up after the anaesthetic, whatever that is, I decided to be sick again! They made me stay in hospital until I had eaten something, after a few Quavers we were on our way home, via Toys R Us of course! They very kindly placed a shop on the way home from Alder Hey just for me!

I have to say, the Alder Hey doctors are really getting to know me, they laid on 2 anaesthetists to look after me, just in case I decided to misbehave, which of course I didn't!

Sunday 29th June

I went to my friend Oliver's 1st birthday yesterday, his dad did a barbecue and it was really nice, I particularly enjoyed the sausage rolls, well done to Oliver's dad for making them so nice on his BBQ.

Oliver is 6 weeks older than me so I will get my dad to BBQ some sausage rolls on my birthday!

Apart from Quavers, I am on hunger strike, I have had enough slop on a spoon, when will they learn that I am a big girl so I am more than capable of eating adult food! I can just about tolerate spaghetti from a jar but I draw a line at sloppy broccoli!

Sunday 22nd June

I have learnt how to dance. Whenever one of my favorites comes on MTV like Rhianna, Leona, Girls Aloud or Madonna, I bop along and clap hands! Its great fun and it makes everyone laugh.

I have made friends with my dog Chester, we now sit together on the floor and he lets me pull his hair. In return I throw him lots of food from my high chair at lunchtime. We have a good understanding.

Sunday 15th June

Its Father's Day so in preparation I have sent some of my people out to buy a card and a present for my dad. I wrote him a nice card and bought him a book to explain some good games he can play with me! He is so lucky!

I was so excited I forgot how to sleep again! My dad is confused because I slept really well when we camped out on the top of K2 last week, he automatically thought that I would continue to sleep well at home! Well how wrong he is! There is far too much to do at night, like drinking milk, dancing, crying...for a laugh, waking my dog Chester so he can play as well.

I have decided that waking up on the hour every hour is a good thing, so that is what I am doing!
I have also grown some white things that my mum is calling teeth at the bottom of my mouth, 2 of them!

Sunday 8th June

Last Tuesday I felt poorly again so we went to Macclesfield hospital again, and we got another stop over! On Wednesday I booked an ambulance taxi and organised a trip out for my dad and me! We got to travel all the way to Liverpool, my own chauffeur and all the traffic moving out of the way! Great! My consultants checked my heart and said it was working, but they asked me if I would mind staying over for the night, apparently there were a lot of people who wanted to see me!

So we climbed to the top of K2 for another night out. I got to see all the nurses who looked after me before as well as some of the doctors, it was really nice to see them all.

I felt much better on Thursday so we got to go home.

On Friday I went to see my Macclesfield consultant, she has assigned me my own personal trainer to help tone me up, I have also been given a PA to play with me. How lucky am I!!!!

Sunday 1st June

I have a cold! And I am teething!

I went to Macclesfield hospital on Friday as my oxygen levels were not very good, I decided to stay for a few hours but then went home at night, but I felt poorly again on Saturday (Actually I fancied a night out in town) so we got to stay over on the Children's ward. After reading the Sunday paper though we went home.

Sunday 25th May

I have discovered the sleep thing, I have now stopped getting my mum (and sometimes my dad) out of bed on the hour every hour! I think my mum and dad are happy about this, in return they have started giving me chocolate buttons and crisps. ace!

However, they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes with the baby slop, they keep distracting me then shoving a spoon of slop in my mouth. Uggh! Apparently "Hannah only eats when she doesn't know she is eating". Dream on mum and dad!

Sunday 18th May

I have now learned how to stand up, nearly all by myself. I can't walk yet but I don't think it will be too long. My mum and dad have been teaching me a trick called 'Big Girl', whenever they say big girl I have to raise my hands above my head, which is easy, and we all roll around laughing. They think they are so clever but little do they know I learnt it from my friend Oliver. Ha!

Sunday 11th May

We are having a party today! My Grandads, Grandma, Granny, Nana, Uncles and Aunties are coming to our house. We are having a barbeque but I am not sure what that is although my dad is looking busy. I have heard he is in charge of cooking.....I think I will stick to my Heinz organic. It is my 9 month birthday today and my dad's 29th birthday tomorrow so I get to open all his presents, ace! We also got to celebrate Man Utd winning the league for the first time on my lifetime, ace again! I had a great day, the sun shone and I continued the party all night again!

Sunday 4th May

Its bank holiday Monday tomorrow and the Disney channel is showing my favorite program all day. Tomorrow is Handy Mani day, muy bien! Handy Mani is teaching me to count and its such fun and so exciting. I think my dad likes Handy Mani as well, he has started to do some DIY, but he is not as good as Mani!

Sunday 27th April

Today is my grandad's birthday, so I decided we would have a party. We went to Dove Holes with my dog Chester and all my grandad's family were at their house. I got lots of attention and had such fun I decided to keep the party going all night, my mum & dad were sooo happy!

Sunday 20th April

I have learnt a new trick, I can now blow bubbles! I blow bubbles all day long, its great. I have also learnt how to sit up on my own without any help! I do fall over every now and again, just for a laugh!

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Sunday 13th April

The funny walk is still here, I don't know what he is trying to say? Yesterday I went to a restaurant and picked some food from the menu, Latino baby food, organic of course! Not for me I'm afraid, I will stick to my apple & pears thank you very much! Although I have now discovered chocolate, my Nana bought me an Easter egg and I love it!!!

Sunday 6th April

I am being deprived of sleep! They keep doing something called pick up/put down, it is supposed to make me learn how to go to sleep. I am more than grown up enough to fall asleep by myself, so I am demonstrating against the technique, if it means none of us will sleep, then so be it! It might make them learn a bit quicker. For the record, I am able to sit up all by myself and decide which food I like, preferably anything sweet.....like me!

My dad came back from football today with a funny walk, he has been putting peas on his knee, weird!

Sunday 30th March

Today I went to my friend Alfie's christening, it was great and I was really happy for him. All the men had funny shirts on, including Alfie, something to do with Hawaii, but I don't know where that is! Fortunately my dad didn't wear pink or orange, the colour clash with his hair and my dress would have been horrendous!

Sunday 23rd March

I got to go to Alder Hey this week, I had booked a visit to see my consultant for a chat and a cup of tea. Anyway, my consultant was very well. Whilst I was there I thought it would be fair to let them practice using their scanner on me. I didn't like the gel they put on my chest though so I decided to let everyone in the hospital know!

Eventually my consultant gave me some of my favourite sugar water, it was nice so I decided to calm down and behave. The doctor had so much fun he booked me in for a MRI scan as well! Ace! We all have to go back in another three months to review the scans and have a meeting about surgery.

I popped into the top of K2 whilst I was at Alder Hey and I got to see Denise, Lindsey, Jane and Tracey which was nice. Apparently, according to my dad, I pulled a face with apparently the biggest bottom lip ever, even worse than my uncle Andrew's bottom lip. They say I have become very clingy!

I would like to thank all doctors and nurses at Alder Hey for the Easter bunny they gave me after our chat, and so say sorry on behalf of my favourite football team for the drubbing they inflicted on Liverpool, apparently it wasn't fair. Oh well!

Monday, March 17, 2008

Sunday 16th March

I am just about back into my 'routine', however I did discover my favorite new belonging. Some babies have teddies, some have blankets, me, being different of course, I have a SLEEPING JACKET! One of my friends in Dove Holes knitted it for me and I refuse to go to sleep without it. I have put my order in for a 9-12 month one ready for when I grow into it!

Sunday 9th March

They have put me in a tent! A tent! I really don't think they know me at all, my style is expensive with lots and lots of people attending my every move. Now they have moved all my stuff from my nice pink, warm, cosy, comfortable room, transported it to a new bedroom and tried to get me to sleep in a travel cot, all canvas with no wood. Unbelievable!

We have been on my first ' holiday'! It was quite nice though, and I didn't really mind the travel cot, I just didn't realise I was meant to go to sleep in it!

On Tuesday I got a bit poorly with a cold, my mum thought I wasn't myself (How does she know?) so we went to visit the hospital at Harrogate, a very pleasant hospital it was as well! I would like to thank my nurse Heather for making sure Harrogate were well prepared for my visit, we couldn't have gone on our holiday without her!

We ended up going home after the hospital, I showed my displeasure when we got home by being sick twice, and off we went for a late night visit to Macclesfield hospital!

Anyway, I got over my cold all by myself, and we had a nice few days away on holiday. I am a bit worried about my Granny and Grumps though, I heard that whilst we were on holiday, they had spent a week plane spotting at Manchester Airport, weird!

Monday, March 3, 2008

Sunday 2nd March

Mother's Day! I got some of my people to go to the shops and get me a present for my mummy. I then wrote the card and hand printed it using my food. Carrot & Butternut Squash. Nice!

We then went out for dinner with my friend Lily and her mum & dad. I behaved really well until my dad tried to give me some food..........from a jar!

Cottage Pie! Urrrrggggggghhhh! I was not impressed and my dad had to take me out of the restaurant whilst I calmed down from the sheer unpleasantness. It also made his food go cold, serves him right, I much prefer my mum's food!

Apart from the Cottage Pie incident, I think me and my dad gave my mum a really nice first Mother's Day!

Sunday 24th February

My Uncle Andrew came to visit me this week and we got to play for nearly two hours! My mum and dad said they were really pleased because apparently they got a break to 'get on with things'. What things?

I am really into playing now, my dog Chester and me are now really good friends, I keep trying to pull his hair and he keeps trying to lick my face. Ace!

Me and Alfie presenting the 'big' cheque

Sunday 17th Feb

I have had some very sad news, I found out this week that one of the babies who was on intensive care at the same time as me has died after a very long and brave battle, our thoughts are with his mum.

We were at Alder Hey last week and I helped deliver a cheque for £13,231.90p for Ronald McDonald House. This was the total for the bile ride that the friends and families of both my dad & Alfies's dad did. I would like to say thankyou to everyone who took part, supported and sponsored, a fantastic effort!

I went to a Rugby game on Saturday, it was a memorial game for my friend Big Dave who we all miss very much. There was a minute silence before the game and I stayed quiet throughout even though my mum and dad had forgotten to feed me. Eventually after many reminders during the first half, they fed me and I was quickly back to my normal chirpy self, although I did fall asleep near the end, but it was a nice day.

I had my last RSV jab of the season, so that should be it for a while, nice!

Sunday 10th Feb

A really quiet week, no injections, no visits to the doctors. Very nice!

Monday, February 4, 2008

Sunday 3rd February

Solids! My mum mixed some banana with apple and apricot (well she opened a jar) and I loved it! I have had baby rice thrust upon me before but I flatly refused to eat it! However this new stuff is great!

I went to weighing clinic this week with my mum, the first time the weighing clinic didn't come to me! However it was really embarrasing because my mum dressed me in a baby grow so it would be easy to undress me! All the other babies were dressed nicely and I looked a right one! Apparently I have built up a reputation for being a bit of a diva when it comes to dressing & undressing!

Sunday 25th January

No jabs.........all week!

I have now discovered the delights of eating out, its great! No washing up or anything. I went for my first meal out this week, paid for by my dad of course, We wnet to Frankie & Bennies in Ashton, near New York! I got to have milk and I behaved myself very well and didn't cry once!

Friday, January 25, 2008

Me and some of my People

Sunday 20th January

A lady is not supposed to talk about her weight, apparently it is meant to be kept secret from boys. Weird! Anyway I would like to report I am now officially 1 stone and a bit. I am too big for my 3-6 month outfits so I have dispatched my people to fetch me some more, the Christmas turkey has obviously had an effect.

I went to a birthday party this week, my Great auntie Anne's, I am not allowed to say how old though! I got to meet my cousins Harry, Jake and Josh for the first time and saw Elle and Daniel again, we had a great time!

Another week, another jab, this time RSV, again!

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Sunday 13th January

I had my third lot of baby jabs this week, they dared stick 3 needles in me, 3! And they had the cheek to do them in the clinic, they are getting a bit big for their boots, daring not to do them in the children's ward at Macclesfield. I decided to behave a bit grouchily afterwards to show my disapproval!

I have been given a new medicine this week, it is called Umetibedbuby or something and it is to help my reflux. My mum is hoping it will help me feed a bit more easily.

My mum & dad went out without me and Chester last week. How dare they! They went to my mum's friend's retirement party, but they did well, they came back with a present for me! I would like to thank my new friend Isabelle for the gift! Really sweet!

I have started fighting this week, when I lay down on my back on my play mat I can really kick my legs and throw punches. And, I am finding my toys really interesting, my dad says I can have a scalextrix next christmas! Ace!

I got to wear my Man Utd shirt and watched them beat Newcastle with my dad and my Uncle Nick! I really like football!

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Sunday 6th January

Happy New Year everyone! My uncle Nick has given me a new haircut for the new year, I can now do a Mohawk! I look proper wicked!

I am in the process of evicting my mum and dad from my room. When I was born they tried to give me the smallest room in the house...... and they painted it yellow! Urrrgh!

Following my little episode in Alder Hey I have finally succeeded in taking over the biggest room in the house. And it is Pink! It is only fair, I need a lot of space for all my furry friends.

I made them take me to B&Q to accessorise the room this week, and I really enjoyed it! My dad has been moaning about flat packs! My grumps very kindly came and painted the other room so my Granny came come and camp out with me as well, she has got the second biggest room! Result!

I am not too keen on this baby rice stuff, I have decided I will eat as much of it as my dad. None! My mum says she is going to mix it with chocolate and ice cream, hmmm nice I think, even though I have never tasted them.

I had to endure shopping again this week, I am now too long for 3 - 6 month clothes so my mum and dad have had to get me some more bigger stuff. Lots of Pink, ace! I did get some Man Utd bibs for Christmas though, just in case anyone thought I was going soft!

Sunday 30th December

I was 20 weeks old yesterday! 20 weeks, that means that I am officially allowed to have real food. I attended a meeting with my mum, my dad and the health visitor and she said I could start weening myself from milk to solid food. Ace! Except, all I am allowed is baby rice....at the moment.

Also this week Father Christmas visited me, he bought sooo many presents he must have come twice! Thank you to everyone who sent me presents as well! My dog Chester was also visited by Santa Paws and he got some presents as well, including a Mexican Hat which makes him look ace!

True to form, because I was deemed not old enough to have Turkey, I behaved impeccably all day until they sat down to their Turkey dinner, then I showed exactly what I thought about not getting any Turkey! And my mum got to find out what cold Turkey feels like!

I have officially decided that, like my dad, I hate shopping. Whenever my mum tries to get me into Marks and Spencers I kick off, meaning we make a swift exit. However, they did take me to Ikea in Sweden and I really liked it, it was fascinating, I think I am going to become an interior designer when I go to school!
