Saturday 1st June - Day Release
I was looked after last night by my daddy.
My last sedation medicine has been reduced this morning, I am now on a dose that I can take home, but the doctors want me to stay a little bit longer just to check that I don't have any withdrawal issues. I have had my last cannula taken out as well.
But I have been allowed out today, my mummy and daddy took me to Macdonalds (the restaurant not the family accommodation) for lunch and I had a happy meal which made me very happy. We went through the drive thru as I am still a little bit weak and we went back to Macdonald House to eat it (the family accommodation not the restaurant).
After lunch my mummy and daddy took me to see their room in Macdonald House, it is called Cheshire Cat which is nice. In their room there were some of my cuddly toys which my mummy has been cuddling at night, Neville the Elephant, Derek the Donkey and Cerys the Welsh Camel. They have all spent a lot of time at Alder Hey when I was a tiny baby, and Cerys even went into both of my heart operations when I was little. She wasn't allowed this time as they have changed the rules, no cuddly toys in the operations or in Intensive Care until after a week, very boring!
We also had a Chinese take away for tea in the new and very posh parents room at the top of K2. I am now very tired, there are babies crying and I am camping out again with my daddy on the top of K2!

How lucky are you having a happy meal for lunch? Wow, you have done so well. Mummy and Daddy must be very pleased! I bet it felt really good, being able to get out and about. Keep improving and I feel sure you will be home quite soon. My sister has been dressed up as a Disney princess today and has learned to curtsey - don't quite get that!! Harry has been allowed to go to Chapel for the first time with his friends and Jake has been transferring music onto his friends phone. I have been playing out with my friend around the corner called Jessica and Mummy and Daddy have been doing boring things like ironing etc. One more day off school then back to work for me! Speak to you very soon Hannah, Cousin Joshua xx
Hi Hannah, wow the news is so great. So pleased to hear you have been out. We went to McDonalds this week. Did you get an Epic toy. We did, we got leaf press frames and we spent ages finding leaves to put in them! Today we went shopping for shoes as we have both grown so much. We both got sandals for our hole, Jack got school shoes and Aisling got pumps... Mummy & Daddy have just about recovered from the bill!! Then we went to the park and played for ages! On Monday we go on holiday to Greece, we can't wait! By the time we get back you might be home. That would be great, we can't wait to see you and Jack wants to tickle you! We have a little goody bag for you too full of our favourite things to help you get better. Enjoy your camp with Daddy and sleep well. Love Aisling and Jack xxx
Hello Hannah Star, you're making us all really happy with how well you are doing! We love hearing your good news and think your happy meal must have been yummy. It's no wonder you were given the star patient award - you have been so strong and brave. Keep on enjoying your trips and meals and recovering so well, with love from Mason XXX
Hi Hannah, it's great to read all your wonderful progress on the blog. You're doing amazingly & sure not too long before you go home, bet you are very excited about that! My Mummy & Daddy have brought me to Wales on holiday. We've been on the beach & I've been paddling in the sea for the first time ever & found a crab & a fish in a rock pool. I'm a little disappointed that I haven't found a mermaid yet. Keep up the good work, Star Patient, lots of love to you all Harriet xxx
