Wednesday 22nd May - Day 7

After a good wobble yesterday evening, I settled down about midnight and had a lovely long sleep, my sats are much better but my nurse Anna (a different one) has pushed her luck a little and started to wean me off the ventilator, but only very very gently. I have been looked after again this morning by Sarah and she gave me a nice wash, changed by bedding, helped to give me some physio which I was much more accepting of today, then promptly switched my Nitric Oxide off! The cheek! Then my mummy and daddy got very worried, one of the intensive care consultants came to see me to give me a good check over, he seemed very happy, the reason my mummy and daddy were worried is that the consultant and me have got previous!!! True to form, after reading all my notes he promptly turned my ventilator right down and stopped my heart drug, his reputation of turning ventilators and machines down in ICU is legendary and strikes fear in to my mummy and daddy, his reputation is nearly as legendary as my reputation! I have behaved very well though!! It has been a very quiet afternoon with my nurse Gina. I would like to say thank you again for all the texts, emails and messages that have been sent to my personal assistants (mummy and daddy)! I am getting them all and appreciate every single one!!

Hi Hannah, Harriet here. I'm really pleased you have had a quiet afternoon & that you are keeping all the drs & nurses on their toes!! This morning Mummy & I went to Mason's house & I had a lovely time playing with your brother Ben, Thomas & Mason. However, I'd really like some 'girly' company too & would love to do some colouring with you when you're better - after all a girl can only push cars around & play with trains for so long!! This afternoon we went to the Farm & sang nursery rhymes but I had a diva moment when I wasn't going to get my request of Twinkle Twinkle first!!
Lots of love to you & your mummy & daddy, hope you all have a restful night. Sweet dreams xxx

Hi Hannah. It's Rachel - Maisie's nanny. I am so glad to hear that you are getting some good rest, you have had the nasty chest drains out and that you have had lovely pink Dora the explorer bedding. It sounds like your being very well looked after. Maisie was very pleased to hear at you had had your hair done and at you had got Dora bedding. She said she thinks you would be very pleased with that. It must be lovely to see some of the nice nurses you have met before. I bet they can't believe how grown up you are now you are nearly 6. We wish you a speedy recovery as we miss seeing you, mummy and Ben (sorry daddy) down at school. Maisie has asked me to send you message to say that she will make you some cakes for when you are feeling better- we have been busy baking for the nursery/reception cake sale this afternoon before dashing off to Rainbows. Much love to you all for now. Xxxxxxx

Hi Ya Ya
Little Bro Ben here.
I have been staying with Granny and Grumpy today. We went to Blaze Farm this afternoon to pick up the pottery we painted for Daddies Birthday. I did my usual trick of demanding ice cream , you think they'd learn by now - as if I'd ever eat anything that cold! I've been running them round in circles at bed time tonight (I'm getting better and better at it everyday!) I think, like me, they want you home very soon so that we can all get back to normal!!
Lots of hugs and kisses,
Ben
PS hope you don't mind I have taken Bedder and Beddy to bed with me tonight to remind me of you!
