Sunday 26th May - a nice little smile
I have had a nice quiet night with Helen, she has knocked down some of my sedation drugs in line with the 'plan'.
I was awake to see my mummy and daddy this morning and I can now see them, I even managed to wave at one of the nurses as well (Sam). My nurse Vicky (the same one as yesterday and the day before) gave me a wash and even got a DVD player for me and we watched High School Musical 3, I even had a little drink of blackcurrant juice.
I am still on intensive care due to the medicine, I am having to wean off the sedation but I am now breathing all by myself, even my nasal specs have gone. I have had my pacing wires removed so my chest is completely free of any wires or tubes! I still can't talk and I have a very deep cough, but I am communicating by pointing, nodding and shaking my head.
I even managed a little smile for my mummy and daddy when they came back from having their tea, I think I made them smile too!!!

Hi Hannah, wow the news is getting better every day. It's so lovely to hear each day the huge step forward you take, you are such a brave girl. Your smile today must have made Mummy & Daddy so happy!!! It's been such nice weather this weekend, we have been able to wear summer clothes at last! After swimming today we played on the park for ages. Then we watched some of the DVD from our ballet show last year, do you remember when we danced to the In the night garden music??? Sending you lots of hugs and a big tickle from Jack. Love Aisling xxxx
Hi Hannah
So so pleased to here you are getting better now, you are a very brave little girl! Keep on doing what you are doing and keep smiling for your Mummy and Daddy it will make them very very happy! Well on Sunday I did the Great Manchester Run and ran all the way from Manchester city centre to Old Trafford (where they play football...ask your daddy he will tell you where it is)and all the way back again! It was very far and very hot but I did it in just over an hour with the help of my friend Becky (she is ace and she works in a hospital too, I reckon you would like her!) We have been raising lots of money for you and all the kiddies at Alder Hey and hopefully when you are feeling better I will come down and see you and tell you all about it!
Anyway sending you lots of hugs and kisses and keep getting better now!
Love Alison xxxx
