Thursday 23rd May - Day 8
I have been looked after overnight by Anna the hairdresser, as I was having a very calm night, she decided to give me a good wash and plaited my hair again, this time with pig tails, and what a nice job she has done!
I have kept Anna really busy but not in a medical way, I have been having special milk called Nutrini now for a few days and I thought it was time to get my bodily functions working again, as I am a very polite young lady I won't say anymore!!
Vicky has been my nurse today, she has been slowly reducing my Adrenalin, I have been waking up lots and doing lots and lots of wriggling, she has put the radio on for me so I can listen to some music, it make a nice change from the bings and the bongs! I am slightly spaced out though as they are still feeding me with horse tranquilliser, but am much happier with the ventilator today.
Then one of the other notorious intensive care consultants came to see me, he also has previous with me! My mummy and daddy were trembling slightly and there was a good crowd in attendance, so he decided to turn my Adrenalin completely off, in his words "lets see what happens". I am considering my response to this outrage!!!!
I have also had my dialysis tube taken out of my tummy this afternoon which is another good step and makes me feel more comfortable, I am very happy that my kidneys have started working again, I have decided that they can have a gold star today!
We have agreed a peace treaty, to compensate for the Adrenaline outrage, the nurses have said I can have a cuddly toy to snuggle up with so I have now got Lambie cuddling upto me. Lambie is actually my little brother Ben's but somehow I have managed to adopt him! Lambie was given to Ben by Father Christmas on the East Lancashire Railway last Christmas (not this Christmas, the one before) and he is VERY cuddly!

So glad you are beginning to feel much better and starting to wake up. I bet it is nice getting rid of some of those nasty tubes and being able to cuddle a toy in bed. We are thinking of you all the time, and had a visit from your brother Ben this morning to our Toddler Group. He enjoyed playing with the trains and had a yoghurt for snack. It was lovely to catch up with him and we can't wait until you are well enough to come and visit us. Take care Dear Hannah and say hello to Mummy and Daddy for us and give them a hug from us all!

Hello Hannah, you have done so well today and must be feeling much better now you can wriggle about a bit and catch up with some cuddles.
Tonight I'm going to be drifting off to sleep with my favourite cuddly crocodile Donald. I know, they aren't everyone's cuddliest animal, but Donald's different - you'll have to meet him when you're better and back home again.
Sleep well, lovely Hannah. Mason XXX
