Saturday 8th September

My nurse today is Sharon. Today they are putting me through my paces and making ME work! I am still breathing on my own and finding it quite hard, but they are encouraging me to do it by myself. They say I have to train myself to get ready for my operation.

My grandad Phillip was telling me about his training when he used to try and play football. He told me about the bleep test he used to do, its a bit different to my bleep testing though.

I have kept Sharon on her feet again all day like I did last time she looked after me.

Yesterday the cardiac liaison nurse came to see me, my mum and my dad. She gave me a book to read to help me look after my mum and dad. She will be the person I ring up if my mum and dad are stressing in the future.

After nearly two weeks of travelling between Buxton and Alder Hey, my Grumps has started to use his Sat Nav. It has broken and he sent it away to be fixed in the Sat Nav hospital but it is better now. Aren't you supposed to use Sat Nav to help you find somewhere the first time? Not the tenth?

At night Matt looked after me. They have taken me out of my goldfish bowl and given me some tubes that sit up my nose, that is sooo much better! They have also changed me to continuous feed (Food all night non stop), how good is that? My Tomp Tomping is obviously a magic trick! I am happy and behaving because I am being fed loads!

Hi, Hannah
This is Great (I hate that title!!) Auntie Susan sending you lots of love from the rest of the clan in Buxton.
Fantastic news that you're now off the ventilator and breathing by yourself - keep it up sweetheart, you're certainly a little fighter -and all that food - they'll be counting your calories next!!
It's brilliant being able to follow your progress on line - where did you get all this computer literacy - not a spelling mistake in sight - you've obviously inherited the "teacher" genes!
I'm beginning to see a real little "busy body" emerging - just like your mum. Do you know - a long time ago when she was a little older than you she was "helping" me bath her cousins Andrew and Alison when she toppled head first into the bath!! - so funny !! - so...when you've progressed to the big bath beware - your mum easily loses her balance!! - you've been warned!!
Sam & Emily send lots of love and are looking forward to visiting you again and playing with Chester. As your mum and dad have told you we did come just before your Christening but you were so poorly we said we'd come another time - so keep getting stronger and we'll "fly" (as before) to see you again. Just continue to keep everyone on their toes - that's a lady's prerogative!!
We're thinking of you all the time

Hi Hannah
I have met your mummy lots of times and think she is lovely but I have never met you. I'm sorry to hear that you are poorly but glad to hear that you are being very brave. When I was born 5 years ago I was poorly too and on a ventilator but I didn't have to have an operation like you. the doctors used to have lots of very serious chats about me too and my mummy had to be very brave like your mummy and daddy are being. Little did they know that I'm made of strong stuff - you sound like a fighter too! Mummy felt very sad but she also felt very happy to have me because she says I'm the most special little girl in the world - I think your mummy and daddy would have an arguement with that! Mummy had to stay in a room by me too and she says your mummy and daddy are to make sure that they get lots of sleep so that they are fighting fit for when you come home. My whole family will be thinking of you all the time those doctors and nurses are very good at fixing people - I'm a big tall girl now. Please give Hannah 4 big kisses from us.
Lots of love MoniXXXXXX
