The beginning of a new month! Today I created quite a fuss within Alder Hey as many people came to visit me and my ECMO machine. They had found out that I was being taken off the machine this morning so were keen to support me. I am quite a celebrity at the moment.
As there was quite a crowd I thought I would perform, so I came off the ECMO and my heart and lungs had to do all their own work (With a little bit of help from some other machines of course!). After a couple of hours on my own the doctors decided to completely detach me from the machine, very scary! But I behaved impeccably.
I have received some artwork today, I think it is from my cousin Jake, but I will have to hire a private detective to investigate further. It is very good work though, I am very impressed!
The nurses are still arguing with my dad, they are now trying to say Derek the Donkey is a Zebra! OK he has got stripes but they are lilac and white, not black and white. I am standing firm with my dad on this one, Derek is a Donkey!
I have had a nice wash and now have nice clean sheets and my friends Aurora, Ted and Maximoo are back in my cot, Cerys is there as usual. I was looked after by Gillian, Alison and Sharon in the day, they gave me three nurses today! This was the agreed compromise as they have now taken one of my ICU bays away from me.
At night I was looked after by Helen (the same one as last night) and Jane (the same one as yesterday day, not yesterday night or the first ICU Jane) and I behaved all night. I can be nice sometimes.
