Tuesday 16th October

The surgeons came to see me this morning, they want to take my stitches out. After careful consideration I decided it was an appropriate time. I didn't cry once whilst the surgeon removed my stitches, my nurse Denise asked me if I wanted to keep them as a memento. A memento? I think my entry into the 'zipper' club will act as a memento so I tactfully declined the offer. My scar looks like a cool tattoo though and I didn't have to pay for it!

Later on the speech therapist came to see me which confused me. I know I am clever but to expect me to talk when I am 9 weeks and 3 days old is asking a lot, even for me. Anyway, she persevered and seemed to be happy watching me eat my dinner, which was out of a bottle.

My dad, my nurse and the speech therapist seemed to be really happy watching me enjoy my dinner, I have heard the hospital canteen is not the best so they must be jealous of my milk.

I received a letter via special delivery today, my Grandma Rita delivered it. It was a get well card from Manchester United homemade by my friends from the 'B' team. Many thanks to Little Matthew and Mere, I am very impressed!

My reputation within Alder Hey has spread, one of the doctors asked me to help her with some revision today, apparently she has an exam on Wednesday and she needed my help, so naturally I was keen to support her.

I was looked after by Denise, Maureen and my mum at night with the help of Naomi. I had a good night and slept for most of it.
